There is no reason that I would choose a beetle's head to be a vase for Chinese style cut flowers. It just was the thing to do. I figured that if the flowers were paper cut outs, then the dragonfly that hovers above should be too. A kitsch kitchen oil cloth was the finishing touch in this domestic scene.
