Cal Academy lent me this butterfly from their "bone pile". I was taken with the underside view, which you would not see if the butterfly were on a flower and its wings were open. I liked the structure of the veins and the coloration, the symmetry. The drawing was built up with many layers of waxy Prisma pencils and took several weeks to complete.
