The challenge, in this drawing, was to find a way to digitally illustrate the texture & pattern. It took a great deal of experimentation. Ultimately, the drawing traveled to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, the New York State Museum and California Academy of Science. A 5' print, on canvas, now resides at the Max-Planck Institute, in Ploen Germany. In 2005, "my" Gladiator-Bug and I received a certificate of appreciation from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the journal "Science" (for being a finalist in their 3rd Annual Science and Engineering Challenge).
