COLOR & SWATCHES

Since this is an online store, and we are all viewing the art and printed material on different monitors under widely different conditions, it is not possible for us to guarantee color matching. However, if color concerns are critical, a 4 x 6 proof swatch (of a portion of the piece) can be ordered for $20.00.

SPECIAL ORDERS

Victoria Saxe's Gicleé or Iris prints are produced one at a time by a master printer. Since she is primarily a digital artist, there is no loss of quality in the prints due to scanning or photography. There are no "originals", only "1's and 0's". In this sense, every print is an original. The paper that is most used for special orders is "Somerset Enhanced Velvet".

Special ordered prints will be run in limited editions, signed and numbered. "Gallery Prints" are limited to editions of 100, they will be signed and numbered. Work can also be printed on canvas. There are other options in this regard and can be answered by contacting us:

CUSTOM PRINTS

Custom prints are those which have different dimensions than the Standard prints (8.5" x 11", 11" x 17", 13" x 19") or use different substrates or inks.

Standard printing uses Epson Ultra Chrome inks and Enhanced matte papers. They are rated to last 76 years when handled correctly. If you wish to know more, please read the excerpt from "Permanence rating for Epson prints framed under glass" below *.

All standard prints will have a _" minimum border, of white, on all sides. Images that are somewhat square will not fill the entire paper, which is rectangular. In that case, the paper will be trimmed to give an equal border on all sides.

Custom sizes may be ordered up to about 5' in width and as long as necessary. The reason we don't offer the pricing of custom prints, on the website, is because there are many options and variables in the printing process.

For example: the choice of substrates, which one would be the most appropriate? Perhaps you wish one of the images printed very large (5' high x 3' wide) to use in a restaurant. In that case, print on canvas and a varnish might be the best solution. Substrates are the materials used to print(on) and can be any manner of gloss or matte papers as well as canvas and so on. It's good to know that the work is so detailed and most of it digitally created, that it will enlarge excellently.

All special orders and custom prints require an advance 50 % non-refundable deposit, before the orders are processed. Special orders and custom prints are not returnable.

Permanence rating for Epson prints framed under glass * "Light fastness ratings are based on accelerated testing of prints on specialty media displayed indoors, under glass. Actual print stability will vary according to media, printed image, display conditions, light intensity and atmospheric conditions. Light fastness ratings do not measure paper deterioration, such as yellowing.

As with traditional photos, proper care will maximize display life. For indoor display, Epson recommends that prints be framed under glass or in a protective plastic sleeve to protect the prints from atmospheric contaminants like humidity, cigarette smoke, and high levels of ozone. And, as with all photographs, the prints should be kept out of direct sunlight. For proper storage, Epson recommends that your prints be stored in a photo album (or plastic photo storage box or museum storage box) in acid free, archival sleeves commonly available from most camera shops and other retailers. By taking these steps to protect prints from direct sunlight and contaminants, you can preserve your photos for many years."

CARE OF PRINTS

Fine Art prints, like any other form of Art, should be handled and displayed with care. Do not display or store artwork in a damp environment or in direct sunlight as this may cause the substrate to warp, crack or the colors to fade. Displaying the artwork behind UV filtering Plexiglas or glass with help minimize discoloration. Archival mat boards and acid-free substrates are also recommended. Victoria-Saxe.com assumes no responsibility for damage caused by mishandling of prints. Properly cared for, the color could maintain for 100 years.
